Mt. San Antonio Gardens is seeking a Life Enrichment Program Assistant responsible for helping develop, create and implement appropriate programs for Oak Tree Lodge (assisted living), and Harrison and Taylor Villas, our two Green House® Homes (www.thegreenhouseproject.org) . This will include weekend and evening coverage.

Note: During emergency situations job duties will be expanded and will include state rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with setting up and moving furniture for group events, per calendar schedule.
• Get acquainted with cognitively impaired residents and determines likes, dislikes and abilities.
• Plan, organize and supervise events to meet special needs, including transportation of residents.
• Be willing to initiate individual programs and encourage independence and successes through appropriate programs and events.
• Work with other departments in an efficient manner in the coordination of events.
• Help maintain records for events, attendance, documenting what has been successful and what hasn’t.
• Conduct in-room visits for socialization with residents to promote a sense of involvement and well-being.
• Read to residents, assist with letter writing, play board or card games, engage in conversation.
• Utilize the skills and assistance of other residents In Assisted Living and other areas of MSAG.
• Prepare, post and distribute monthly calendar and/or other correspondence to residents.
• Reports residents needs to Life Enrichment Coordinator.
• Practices good safety habits.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and other meetings as recommended by the Life Enrichment Coordinator.
• Attend mandatory meetings.
• Assist with the care of any Oak Tree Lodge plants and environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Life Enrichment Coordinator.
• Taylor Villa and Harrison Villa involvement in Oak Tree Lodge events and programs will be determined by the Villa Manager and Life Enrichment Coordinator.
• Will follow Oak Tree Lodge and MSAG dress code policy.
