Congregation B'nai Israel --Gainesville, Florida is Hiring a Preschool Teacher Near Gainesville, FL

For 47 years, B’nai Israel Community Day School has been offering a nurturing, learning environment to children and their families. Working with children from three months old we have both full and part time care options. At B’nai Israel we offer a diverse curriculum of daily and weekly classes in fine arts, nature classes, Jewish studies and more. We are committed to developing the whole child and with that in mind we work purposely to teach our children the importance of community engagement. Our goal is for our children to leave us with the tools to be successful as leaders in any community.

We are seeking to hire qualified candidates for the following positions:

  • Lead Teacher for a 2 year -old class (beginning at $17/hr)
  • Assistant Teachers (beginning at $15/hr)
  • Floaters (beginning at $15/hr)

*Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

All teachers/employees are responsible for:

  • Create and submit weekly lesson plans that align to the scope and sequence (Leads only).
  • The overall safety of the class
  • Maintain leadership of classroom
  • Supervise children at all times
  • Foster positive relations with all parents and children
  • Keep accurate daily records of the number of children, accidents, parent concerns, discipline concerns, illness log, etc.
  • Foster positive relationship with Assistant and work as partners
  • Facilitate activities according to created lessons for your appropriate age group
  • Ensure all supplies are available and ready in advance for day’s lessons
  • Complying with all DCF guidelines
  • Maintaining communication with all parents in their class
  • Maintain a clean classroom
  • Update bulletin boards in hall and classroom frequently
  • Other duties as needed

Job requirements:

Must complete 45 hrs. of DCF required training within the DCF time frame.

CDA preferable, not required.

Must be able to bend, twist and stoop.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
