Exciting Opportunity for Cytotechnologist Position in Evansville, IN

Employment Type: Contractor
Location and Schedule:
- Location: Evansville, IN, 47714
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts for three days a week from 07:30 to 16:00, totaling 36 hours per week.
- Department: Lab Cytology
- Perform microscopic examination of cellular samples, utilizing staining techniques and laboratory equipment for the identification and classification of abnormal cells.
- Interpret cell morphological features to identify precancerous or cancerous conditions, infections, or other abnormalities.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate test results and contribute to accurate diagnosis reports.
- Maintain detailed records of sample analyses, test results, and follow-up procedures.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Stay updated on cytological techniques, diagnostic criteria, and equipment advancements for best practices.
- Provide guidance and training to laboratory staff, including new technicians or assistants.
- Follow laboratory safety protocols for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts by evaluating and implementing new laboratory procedures or technologies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing procedural concerns and questions about sample collection or test results.
- Duration: 3-month contract
