About the Role:

Confluent’s infrastructure organization includes an engineering team focused on understanding, and lowering our cloud provider costs within AWS, Azure, and GCP. We ingest billing data from each of these cloud providers and run it through a data pipeline that attributes spend across various business dimensions. This data set is used to provide reporting and alerting to engineering teams as well as to enable advanced business analytics such as unit economics and per-customer margins. These insights are also used to drive architectural improvements across the platform on all engineering teams, giving the team a unique ability to have a direct business impact.

What You Will Do:

• Develop services using GoLang and Python
• Contribute to a data pipeline using SQL, DBT and GCP BigQuery
• Work with other engineering teams to ensure cost-optimal architectures
• Work closely with business and data teams to ensure dashboards and alerts give the business the data they need to understand product costs and margins

What You Will Bring:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2-4 years industry experience designing, building, operating and supporting large-scale systems in production with a solid grasp on good software engineering practices such as code reviews, deep focus on quality, and documentation
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and GoLang
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform or CloudFormation
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP or Azure cloud environments and technologies
• Strong analytical and debugging skills

We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of 131,600 - 154,620 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
