Responsibilities

An opportunity to work in collaboration with the Radiation Oncology Medical Faculty and APP's in provision of clinical care for patients undergoing treatment for cancer at University of Rochester. The team seeks a good decision-maker, with proven success in making timely decisions. This person must be able to work effectively in fast-paced outpatient environment dealing with a wide range of diseases. The APP will care for patients undergoing radiation treatment or recovering from treatment, with diseases including, but not limited to, neurologic, head and neck, thoracic, GI, GU, and pediatric malignancies. The APP must be adept at planning and prioritizing work. Must be flexible in their approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances. Responsibilities include direct patient care including evaluation and management of acute illness and chronic symptom management, follow-up, coordination of services, and patient and family education. The APP will be working collaboratively with our Radiation Oncology teams. Involvement in clinical trial accrual. Serves as clinical liaison between faculty, APP's, Residents and administration. Participates in department meetings relevant to clinical duties. Excellent communication skills with proven ability in exercising independent judgment and initiative. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students, Residents and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

**Qualifications**

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master's degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( _National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)_

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

**Pay Range**

Pay Range: $44.71 - $67.07

_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
