OPPORTUNITIES, INC. is Hiring a Head of Product Near Boston, MA

Head of Product

At One Door, our vision is to bring the retail in-store vision to life. As we pursue our mission to be the #1 Visual Merchandising platform, we are seeking a Head of Product to help harness the power of new technologies and lead the effort to bring our vision to life in software.

What You’ll Do:

The Head of Product Management, reporting to the CTO, is responsible for our product strategy and overseeing the evolution of the One Door platform. You will lead a team of product managers and user experience designers, working closely with engineering, customer experience, product marketing, marketing and sales. You will collaboratively define the objectives and key results for product development, using your understanding of new technologies to advance our ability to meet the market’s business needs. You will be the evangelist for the One Door platform, both internally and externally with customers and partners. Your team will help define product positioning, pricing, and packaging. You will refine and monitor the performance metrics of the One Door Platform to ensure feature adoption, market competitiveness, customer satisfaction, and overall business success.

Who You Are:

  • You are a SaaS product leader who drives results by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams within and outside the organization – engineering, marketing, sales, and finance.
  • You possess both business and technical intelligence, and are able to simultaneously hold a strategic product vision and to deliver pragmatically. You balance the three key items for a leader; vision, execution, and measurement.
  • You are comfortable being hands-on with enterprise SaaS products, while also being able to articulate the story at appropriate depth depending upon audience types – customers, partners, peers, and C-level executives.
  • You have relevant experience in retail, preferably dealing with some aspect of visual merchandising, POP/Signage production, promotions or the presentation and layout of retail stores. Conversely, experience with other promotion/campaign based paradigms, as well as retail category management could also be considered.
  • You enjoy the entire product life cycle, including strategy, requirements, delivery, go to market, and continuous improvement of your product. You invest time to learn our market and technology, understanding customer problems, synthesizing needs, and defining innovative solutions.
  • You are positive, adaptable, and proactive in a dynamic and hybrid work environment; attention to details is an inherent part of your communications and work output.
  • You have a strong ability to coach and mentor individuals into an effective and efficient team. You know that no matter how good your ideas are they will not succeed without the support of the team.
  • You believe that the way to succeed is getting the right products in the hands of real users, learn fast, and iterate.

How You’ll Succeed:

As a key member of One Door leadership, you are entrusted with the success of your team and our product. You are expected to:

  • Manage, mentor, and coach your product managers and user experience designers
  • Define product strategy and roadmap with a focus on business results
  • Manage the entire product life cycle from discovery through go to market
  • Prioritize and maintain a detailed product roadmap driven by business analysis, competitive positioning, and customer input
  • Develop and champion product positioning, support sales and channel strategy, validate market messaging, and contribute content for enablement
  • Ensure the product delivers an awesome customer experience
  • Challenge the conventional wisdom; take our team, processes, and outcomes from good to better to great

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8 years of relevant experience including managing SaaS products and product teams
  • Retail Systems domain expertise with a retailer or a SaaS product supplier to retail in a role that is concerned with the visual and physical presentation of stores
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand technical concepts
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing customer expectations and escalations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building strong relationships with all stakeholders and managing by influence
  • University degree in a technical discipline preferred. An MBA is a plus

Work location and environment:

We are a remote-first team with an office in Boston’s Seaport area. Travel to customer sites will occasionally be required. As a member of the One Door leadership team, you will both want and need to attend meetings and company events in Boston once or twice a quarter. Living in the greater Boston area and being able to be present in the Boston office more frequently is a serious plus.
