Permit Technician

Concrete Driveway Co is looking for a bold and meticulously organized Permit Technician to join the team in our Headquarters office in Greenville, SC. This role is critical in obtaining all relevant permits as they relate to the installation of residential concrete projects nationally and in various municipalities as well as securing all relevant local and state licenses. This position would offer a competitive salary range of $45,000-$50,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Permit Acquisition:

• Research and identify all required permits and licenses for construction projects.
• Prepare and submit permit applications to the relevant local, state, and federal authorities.
• Track the status of permit applications and ensure timely approval.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay current on building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant construction-related laws.
• Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure projects comply with all regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate inspections and approvals by coordinating with inspectors and authorities.

Documentation and Records:

• Maintain accurate records of all permits, approvals, and associated documentation.
• Organize and file permits and related paperwork for easy accessibility.
• Prepare reports on permit status and compliance for project teams and management.

Communication and Liaison:

• Act as the primary point of contact with local authorities and regulatory agencies.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with permitting officials.
• Communicate permit requirements and updates to project teams.

Problem Resolution:

• Address any issues or challenges related to permits and approvals promptly and effectively.
• Work closely with project teams to resolve permit-related obstacles.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Permit Technician or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction permits, building codes, and zoning regulations.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using permit management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
