• Develop software and provide enhancements using Standards, Style, and Guidelines (SSG) best practices, including iterative agile development methodology, to produce all software source code.
• Develop and manage software source code using configuration management tools (e.g., Subversion, Git, or NDP designated development platforms of similar functionality for future upgrades).
• Perform unit-level testing of software code components and address any software issues identified prior to release to the integration and test phase.
• Install, integrate, test, and verify updated software to ensure a fully functioning, operational system is ready for deployment via the following production and acceptance stages: Development, System Test, User Acceptance, and Production/Release.
• Plan and implement periodic software updates to ensure custom and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software and systems remain operational, functional, and current.
• Prepare, review, update, and deliver documents/reports, which may include System Design Document (SSD), Software Design Document (SWDD), Software Architecture, System Architecture, Data Flow Diagrams, External System Interfaces (ICD, API), Data Sources Configuration, System Support Modification (SSM), and/or Version Description Document (VDD).
• Assist in the creation of documentation for users, training, and system/software maintenance.
• Assist with software release management, including performing deployment and operational readiness logistics, manage version deployments, including remote site installations, verifying that each software release is compliant with auditing and configuration requirements, manage deployment risk, and contribute feedback for documentation updates.
• Assist with Technical and Maintenance Support (T&M), including performing software maintenance updates related to security and deficiency assessments, investigating and resolving technical issues affecting site or system performance, and updating system and/or application documentation affected by maintenance actions.

Required Qualifications:

• BS or higher in Engineering, Aviation, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• 8 years software development experience (advanced degrees may be substituted).
• Experience using configuration management tools, such as Subversion or Git.
• Experience leading software releases and version deployments.
• Hands-on experience working with the Airspace Access Program (AAP) system.
• Experience using Standards, Style, and Guidelines (SSG) best practices to produce software source code.
• Experience providing system/software documentation, such as SDDs and SWDDs, along with user training materials.
• Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; able to manage various tasks and determine priorities to keep projects on-track.

Desired Skills

• Experience meeting the FAA ATO Information Systems Security Program requirements, including the development of documentation, participating in risk and continuous monitoring assessments, and writing/updating security documents.
• Project management experience, specifically within the FAA
