The Conanicut Yacht Club was incorporated on October 7, 1892 “for the purpose of encouraging yacht building and improvement in seamanship and the cultivation of naval science…”. We have come a long way since our founding, yet our colorful history still shapes the Club. Today, CYC is a vibrant community that celebrates tradition as it meets members’ diverse interests.
Facilities
CYC’s main Clubhouse offers a full-service dining room, a complete bar, casual gathering spaces, and seasonal outdoor seating overlooking Narragansett Bay and the CYC waterfront. The Clubhouse is the main hub for Club activities, from weekly card games to meals, special events, boating, launch service, and dinghy storage.
Located at 24 Whittier Road, a half-mile from the Clubhouse, CYC’s state-of-the-art racquets hut offers indoor and outdoor viewing of the Club’s eight Har-Tru tennis courts and two paddle tennis courts. Visit the Pro Shop, take a lesson with our pro, and take in the busy racquets scene.

Bar Staff
Primary Purpose of Job:
Bar staff ensures a pleasant dining experience for our members and guests by serving food and beverage items in an efficient, pleasant manner. All service staff follows proper etiquette procedures and are able to handle themselves in the utmost professional manner.
Major Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Create a warm, friendly, relaxed atmosphere for the enjoyment of members and their guests.
· Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance at all times in accordance with established dress codes.
· Must be able to lift 30 LBS
· Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
· Comply with all food and beverage regulations
· Be a team player and have the ability to work closely with others.
· Effectively handle complaints and communicate them through the proper channels.
· Work with a “sense of urgency” on behalf of the membership.
Job Tasks/List:
· To efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner. To follow the service sequence and standards of the club, according to the training manual.
· To take food and beverage orders and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing the content of the orders with co-workers, as well as to correctly order them in the POS system.
· To have complete knowledge of all menu items including preparation of those items.
· To assure that food and drink preparation and presentation are proper throughout the guests’ dining experience.
· To ensure proper set-up and maintenance of the bar service station and bar.
· Knowledge of and adherence to all uniform requirements; to be professional in both appearance and manner at all times.
· Knowledge of, respect for and adherence to all staff privileges and responsibilities.
· To be prepared to seat guests in the absence of a manager or host.
· To work well as a team member with the entire club staff.
· To be aware of all state laws pertaining to the sale and service of liquor and alcoholic beverages.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.

Hourly plus holiday bonus (gratuities from private events only)
