Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Technician to join our team. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of cables and telecommunications equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise in Ethernet, telephone systems, electrical work, fiber splicing, and computer networking.
Duties:
- Install and configure network cables and equipment for residential and commercial clients
- Perform cable terminations, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure proper functionality
- Conduct fiber optic splicing and fusion splicing as needed
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving technical issues
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including cable layouts and diagrams
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working at heights or in confined spaces
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cable Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet, telephone systems, electrical work, fiber splicing, and computer networking
- Familiarity with cabling standards and industry best practices
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
