Computer Aid is Hiring a MS Power BI Developer Near Chicago, IL

We are looking for a MS Power BI Developer. This position will be full-time, hybrid, 6-month contract in either Chicago or Tempe.

What You’ll Do

· Responsible for the overall operation of an enterprise scale installation, associated operational and functional demands, and managing fixes and enhancements.

· Work closely with business subject matter experts to ensure that requirements and security protocols are met.

· Manage and track break/fix and enhancement development by the report development team.

· Work with business stakeholders to design and build visual reports and dashboards using modern Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.

· Power BI development.

· Work with business users to continuously improve existing dashboards, reports, and datasets.

· Properly understand the business requirements and develop data models accordingly by taking care of the resources.

· Support this platform's build-out using Power BI as the tool for dashboards and operational reporting.

· Enable business partners to leverage Business Intelligence tools for their analytical needs.

· Other assigned duties

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, Statistics, or equivalent.
  • 6 years of IT experience
  • Minimum 2 years with Power BI development, visualizations, and deployment.
  • Minimum 2 years with the Microsoft BI stack, including: PowerBI, Power Query, DAX, and M.
  • Experience with configuration / management of Microsoft Power BI Service.
  • Experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data via Dataflows, Data Marts, Dashboards and Apps to recommend and/or act upon.
  • Advanced level of MS Excel skills with knowledge of functions, data pivots, and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated development experience by writing queries and procedures and using functions to create curated data for use in reporting.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, processes, and workflows (1-2 years)
  • Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and self-prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to anticipate and proactively handle issues.
  • Ability to adhere to SDLC standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as exceptional analytical and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to work without close supervision while keeping focused on short and long-term support objectives.
  • Ability to successfully facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, IT teams, departments, and levels.
  • Exhibit unwavering honesty and integrity.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Relational Databases, TSQL, MDX, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS
  • Microsoft PL300 or PL400 Certification

Physical Demands:

· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards.

· Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

· Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor.
