What are we looking for in a Certified Nursing Assistant?
Certified Nursing Assistants provide care, support, and a safe living environment for individuals residing within our 24-hour inpatient and residential facilities. Nursing Assistants provide supportive counseling and skills development to assist clients with stabilizing symptoms and learning illness management skills. These positions are part of an interdisciplinary team that provides individualized, trauma-informed treatment in collaboration with the client's natural support systems to help ensure a smooth transition to community outpatient treatment. This role is best suited to someone who communicates effectively, remaining supportive and empathetic during challenging situations, and who values teamwork and collaboration in working toward the goal of improving the lives of the individuals we serve. A general understanding of behavioral health issues is helpful for this role. These positions are full time, with a set work schedule, comprehensive benefits package, and competitive wages including shift differentials for evening and overnight hours (extra $1/hr for 6pm-midnight and $1.50/hr for midnight-6am).
Nursing Assistant duties may include:
  • coordinating care with the client's medical providers and treatment teams
  • overseeing medication self-administration, including offering education & instructions and monitoring clients' symptoms & response to medications
  • assisting with the creation of an individualized treatment plan for each client that incorporates their goals, strengths, barriers, and needs and includes the client's voice and perspectives
  • coaching clients in practical living skills such as self-care, interpersonal & social skills, leisure and recreational opportunities, community resources, form completion, impulse control, and behavior management
  • accompanying clients to appointments, community events, and outings
  • ensuring a safe living environment by performing cleaning & laundry duties and preparing nutritious meals & snacks when needed
  • assessing clients for risk to self or others and taking appropriate crisis intervention steps as necessary to ensure safety
  • completing required documentation that captures the activities, goals, and progress of each client
  • ensuring the safety of yourself, other staff, and clients by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), including N95 respirator masks, when appropriate
Qualifications:
  • Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) in Washington
  • One year of previous related experience preferred
  • Must be willing to comply with N95 respirator requirements, including the removal of facial hair for initial fit testing and throughout employment when donning N95 respirators is clinically indicated
  • Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
Available Shifts:
  • Detox & Crisis Triage Center is a sixteen-bed facility that serves adults who are experiencing a substance use or mental health crisis and are needing a safe environment to stabilize. Clients receive individual and group services, symptom monitoring, service coordination and case management, and referrals to long-term treatment services when appropriate. Schedule (1 position): Tuesday-Saturday 11pm-7am
  • Bridges is a secure, sixteen-bed facility that serves adults who require inpatient treatment due to an emotional crisis or change in function due to a mental illness. The program provides evaluation, stabilization, and brief treatment for men and women age 18 and older. Schedule (2 positions): Thursday-Monday 11pm-7:30am OR Wednesday-Sunday 11pm-7:30am
