The Director of Nursing (DON) is a Registered Nurse (RN) who is a licensed health care provider who reports to the Chief Medical Officer and is clinically supervised by the CMO. The DON will work with all medical personnel assigned to multiple clinical care settings. The DON is responsible for providing supervision and clinical guidance to all medical personnel within clinical care settings. The DON will ensure that all medical personnel will provide health care to examinees within the clinical care centers in accordance with State and Federal guidance and regulations.
The DON is responsible for promoting best practice through medical staff development and education ensuring optimal examinee outcomes in accordance with practice guidelines and clinical policies and procedures. Develops education program for all medical personnel, ensuring competencies are completed and oversight of all new medical personnel on the job orientation program.
The DON supervises medical staff in the clinical settings to ensure quality care is rendered to all examinees. Maintains compliance with program standards and regulations. Collaborates with departmental leaders to ensure cohesiveness with the medical department. Responsible for several activities related to the delivery of medical care, and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance, and medical process development. Oversees the activities of the medical personnel, including assessments, interventions, and documentation.
All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.
