A successful candidate for MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST has the following qualifications:

• Experience with paid claim denials, accounts receivable follow-up, audit and resubmission of claims
• A high school diploma required (some college is excellent!)
• Previous experience in medical billing and/or coding
• Proven experience with MS EXCEL, NEXTGEN or other MEDICAL BILLING SOFTWARE
• Experience with multiple insurances, including private, commercial, managed, and MediCaid
• A committed work history that shows longevity and growth
• Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment (experience in ophthalmology preferred)
• Familiarity with computer software and the ability to learn new systems quickly (Electronic health record experience preferred)
• Able to remain focused and organized
• Ability to obtain sufficient references and a background check to perform the duties of the position
