Requirements and Experience:

• Must be able to read blueprints and have a basic understanding of the piping systems
• Strong familiarity with HVAC piping systems and knows conventional installation requirements.
• Capable of utilizing the contract drawings, details, spool sheets, submittals and installation instructions for the purposes of determining the best layout.
• Competent with rigging and using equipment such as welding machines, forklifts and mobile elevated platforms.
• Lay out, fit and weld piping systems and related components including tanks, pressure vessels, and similar components.
• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
• Applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining and welding techniques.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding
• Welding production must consistently exceed six (6) 8" position welds per day on SCH 40 carbon steel pipe.
• look at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth.

Qualifications

• The qualified candidate will have four (4) of successful and full-time welding and pipefitting experience in the industry required.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is recommended, but not required.
• Must be able to climb and balance on ladders, stand/ or sit for long periods at a time, must not have fear of heights, among others
• Must be able to pass regular drug testing and be open to background checks
• Valid Florida Driver's License is required
• Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier
