JOB SUMMARY:

This position is designed to be 50% direct clinical work with CCAP clients and 50% Professional Development and clinical administrative and supervisory activities. The Clinical Supervisor will act as the lead clinician to provide clinical support, supervision, and direction for all CCAP clinical mental health outpatient staff, oversee all behavioral health Performance Improvement activities, and assist with monitoring and compliance of State, Federal, HRS, JCAHO, and NCQA regulations that pertain to clinical and case management services. In addition, a key job responsibility is to research, plan, design, implement and evaluate all clinical behavioral health professional development and training needs to meet federal and state requirements, as well as develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to effectively treat the BH clinic’s clients. This position will provide CCAP leadership with regular Performance Improvement Updates and program statistical reports in collaboration with the Director. Must be credentialed and privileged with CCAP to function as a Licensed Independent Practitioner.

WORK DEMANDS:

This is a full-time position (40 hrs) unless determined differently by the Director. Due to the nature and responsibility of this work, this individual maintains a flexible schedule, which may go beyond a regular workweek. 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: 

Must have excellent written and oral abilities. Must be able to convey essential information to staff. 

CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION:

Has full access to clinical records in the CCAP Family Health Service program. Has access to some financial and administrative records. Maintains confidentiality of all materials in accordance with State and Federal laws and CCAP policies and procedures. 

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Hold an unrestricted independent license, LICSW, in the State of RI;
  2. 3 years of documented experience in clinical management; and, 
  3. Demonstration of an understanding of professional behavioral health development and training. 

SIGNIFICANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the clinical supervision team 
  • Supervise assigned clinicians at their first tier of licensure and provide clinical sign-off of all clinical documentation 
  • Supervise independently licensed clinical supervisors on the clinical supervision team 
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all professional development needs of the staff in the BH Department, in addition to the CCBHC federal and state requirements 
  • Lead the interprofessional collaboration initiative and serve as the departments point person for interprofessional collaboration with other departments on behalf of clients/patients at CCAP 
  • Monitor existing policies for clinical compliance with State, Federal, HRSA, JCAHO regulations 
  • Assist the Director with Performance Improvement initiatives for the behavioral health, clinical and case management 
  • Coordinate staff members involved with Performance Improvement Projects 
  • Willingness to engage in self-evaluation and to establish goals for professional development
  • Provides CCAP with Performance Improvement expertise 
  • Routine review of clients' status in treatment and monitoring of case files 
  • Participates in CCAP committees as determined by the Director 
  • Participates on CCAP Leadership as well as Health/Behavioral Health Leadership 
  • Participates on community boards, committees, etc 
  • Identifies, designs, implements, evaluates, and supervises Performance activities for clinical program 
  • Maintains JCAHO, State of Rhode Island and Federal standards of all clinical programs
  • Required programmatic and statistical reports as determined and requested by the Director 
  • Receive administrative supervision from the BH Director
  • Other duties as assigned

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The environment is a clinical business office environment. Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, respiratory diseases and other infectious diseases, and other biohazardous material requiring universal standard precautions. Transportation is necessary at times. Must follow all CCAP Environment of Care and Infection Control Policies.
