EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Physical Standards:
Positions in this class of employment are situated in a standard clinical environment where there is little or no exposure to variations in the weather or other similar elements. Physical agility must be such that the Medical Dosimetrist is able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. This position has some direct patient contact. The Medical Dosimetrist should be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly and 50 pounds intermittently. There is potential exposure to blood, body fluid/tissue, and infectious wastes. There is also potential exposure to radiation, chemicals, and toxicants.
Reporting Relationship:
The Medical Dosimetrist reports to the Manager of Radiation Oncology (MRO) and is not a supervising position.
Characteristics:
Medical dosimetrists develop, optimize, and monitor patient treatment plans and provide oversight to high-level treatment procedures. Accurate calculations are required for all treatment plan implementations. The medical dosimetrist must have knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance in the management of cancer and other radio-responsive conditions, provide input for the use of ancillary treatment devices and patient immobilization techniques. The medical dosimetrist must accurately transfer and document treatment parameters either manually or electronically.

$150,000-$175,000 plus $10,000 sign-on bonus
