About The Position

We are in search of a Senior Software Engineer to join our team, dedicated to enhancing our leading web application in document distribution and authoring for the aviation and rail industries. We got our start delivering electronic documents and manuals to frontline operators in aviation and are at the forefront of the industry's evolution towards smarter content solutions.

You will operate within a fully remote cross-functional team, with quarterly in-person collaboration sessions in Beloit, Wisconsin. You will bring your expertise in full stack web application development, adeptly navigating technologies such as .Net Framework, .Net Core, and React with Typescript. Your role is not just about coding; it extends to providing technical mentorship and fostering continuous learning among team members. Effective and frequent communication is essential as you collaborate with other developers, providing guidance, reviewing code, and encouraging creativity and innovation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable software solutions, primarily focusing on our web application. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product requirements.
  • Play a pivotal role in enhancing the technical skills of other developers through mentorship and knowledge sharing, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Uphold coding standards and practices, actively participate in code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to ensure the quality of the codebase.
  • Participate in scrum meetings and work closely with Product teams to discuss and implement new features, considering user needs and business requirements.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides.
  • Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated UI tests.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot software defects, system errors, and performance bottlenecks, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in web application development in both front-end and back-end technologies, including .Net Framework, .Net Core, and React with Typescript.
  • Experience building and managing relational databases, as well as writing SQL queries, preferably in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience using Git, diff/merge tools, and creating/reviewing Pull Requests.
  • Knowledge of SOLID principles, design patterns, and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex software defects, system errors, and performance issues efficiently.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining backend APIs, integrating with third-party applications and services.
  • Capacity for innovative thinking to develop creative and effective solutions for technical challenges.
