Assistant Director of NursingPrivate Duty Home Health
We are hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing who is a registered nurse and who ensures quality of patient/client care. 

Essential Functions: 

1. Coordinate clinical functions; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with State and federal regulations. 

2. Participate in activities relevant to professional services including development of qualifications and assignment of personnel.

3. Supervise and give direction to staff to ensure quality, compliance with Plan of Care and assessment and reassessment of patient's needs and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel. Ensure execution of all job functions and job descriptions for service staff (direct and supervisory). Execute a consistent companywide orientation and staff education program for Agency personnel. Assist with the interview process to select and hire quality personnel. Identify areas of training needed to further develop any Agency caregivers.

4. Participate with the Administrator, Director of Nursing, Private Duty Vice Presidents and Chief Executive Officer in the formulation of a business plan, i.e., Strategic Goals, resource allocation plan(s), and a yearly budget.

5. Conducts Nursing Assessments and documents accurately (Start of Care Visits, Recertification Visits, Supervisory Visits, Resumption of Care Visits, and any other Visits as directed by the DON. 

6. Assists the DON in training and education of Caregivers and Skilled Nurses.

7. Private Duty Case Management per caseload as assigned by the DON. 

8. Assure productivity requirements of full-time, specific package and contract staff.

9. Assist Administrator with planning activities to develop administrative and clinical policies and practices for the agencies and registries assigned.

10. Assists the DON with all QAPI and utilization review activities, including timely initiation of corrective action plans and controls.

11. Promote compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors, through education, coaching, and other assistance as necessary.

12. Monitor systems and identify problem areas to Administrator both verbally, electronically, and through written reports.

13. Meet mandatory continuing education requirements of the Agency/licensing board.

14. Promote and educate regarding the concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.

15. Use effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitate other team members' use of these skills to achieve desirable outcomes.

16. Provide On-Call Clinical Judgment, case management and effective communication. 

17. Evaluate the assigned agencies program, services, and field personnel. 

18. Assist in the evaluation of community needs and plans programs and services to meet identified needs. Assists in marketing the Organization and fostering community relations.

19. Participate in state and national organizations, meetings, seminars, workshops, and activities relating to health professions and health care services when appropriate.

20. Proactively identify issues impacting patient care and/or office operations and involve operations management/clinical management as indicated.

21. Facilitate implementation of Company initiatives, changes in policy, regulations, process and procedures.

22. Act as a resource to provide support and expertise to the Home HealthTeam.

Requirements

Experience:

· Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a registered nurse obtained within the last 36 months. 

· At Least, one year experience in home health care, preferred. 

· Management experience preferred.

Skills:

  • Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Demonstrates proven decision-making skills. 
  • If required to make visits, Hepatitis profile. 
  • Must read, write, and comprehend English.

Education:  

· Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.

Licensure/Certification: 

· Current driver’s license in good standing. The employee must renew their driver’s license before it expires to continue employment. 

· Current State professional license as an RN in any/all applicable states. 

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged sitting required.

· Ability to operate office equipment which may include heavy lifting, bending and standing

· If visiting patients, prolonged standing and walking is required, with the ability to lift to 50lbs and move patients.

· Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and courteously.

· Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and Agency needs.
