Complete Health is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Worker Near Pell, AL

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift

Pay: $21 - $23/hr

Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Worker will provide routine and basic maintenance and repair work to include various commercial repairs and maintenance activities, including, but not limited to work on electrical systems, appliances, furniture, plumbing and, heating and air conditioning systems. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the maintenance worker will and support coordination of facility repairs, maintenance and contractor coordianation within an assigned market area.

This position works closely with market leadership and practice managers to ensure that each facility location is maintained and compliant with any regulatory or building code requirements as well as maintained and updated with basic facility repair needs in a timely fashion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and/or completing repair and systems maintenance tasks directly or with contracted vendors
  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, walkways, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
  • Performing day-to-day maintenance and repairs on facilities, such as heating and cooling systems, minor electrical or plumbing, lighting, locks or completing maintenance orders and service need requests submitted by a practice manager or other associate
  • Perform regularly scheduled system audits (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, annual) to ensure optimal performance
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
  • Collaborating with building owners and upper management on facilities needs
Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years multi-site building maintenance work
    • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical trade school training preferred, but years of experience will be accepted in lieu of formal education
  • Ability to complete minor and routine maintenance and service/repair needs for electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and other items as identified
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Meticulous and skilled at documenting.
  • Detailed with strong organizational skills, ability to complete minor or basic building repair and maintenance needs
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with best practices
  • Valid state issued drivers license

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Provides expertise to customers and colleagues regarding systems functionality and facility maintenance needs
  • Assesses, configures and quality checks on system upgrades, enhancements or changes.
  • Experience performing electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling and carpentry repairs in a commercial building
  • Small tool and equipment knowledge and use
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of methods involved in basic maintenance and repair work
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and measures
  • Knowledge of safety procesures and protocols for work around electrical systems
    • Knowledge of principles of electricity, such as units (amps, ohms, watts, volts), current flow, circuit, lock-out/tag-out, horsepower, genrators and electrical controls
  • Knowledge of the tools, equiopment, materials and practices of the construction and mechanical trades, such as electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The position requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and finger use. Pushing and pulling are occasionally required. Use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone along with various office machines is an essential part of the job.
