Job Title: AutoCAD Designer - Fire Protection Systems

Location: Sunnyvale, TX

Compensation: $45k-75k/year, 401k Match (with Roth option), PTO, Medical plans offered

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Designer to join our team. As an AutoCAD Designer, you will be responsible for designing fire protection systems using AutoCAD and HydraCAD applications, performing hydraulic calculations, producing fabrication drawings, and communicating with clients and contractors throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design fire protection systems using AutoCAD and HydraCAD applications
• Perform complex hydraulic calculations
• Produce fabrication drawings and create submittal packets
• Visit job sites, perform surveys of existing systems, and perform hydrant flow tests
• Review and comprehend architectural files, specifications, and other contract documents
• Discuss designs with local code officials and review NFPA codes to ensure the system meets all applicable codes
• Communicate with field installers to understand practical application of designed layout and adjust future layouts

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in AutoCAD design and 1 year of experience in construction or fire protection (preferred)
• High level attention to detail and strong spatial awareness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer knowledge, including AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Adobe
• High School Diploma minimum
• Driver’s License
• Able to pass a background check and drug test
• Willing to commute to office daily
• Must be local and live within 1 hour from Sunnyvale
