About The Client:
· The Client is a Florida based law firm serving clients throughout Florida with offices in Maitland and Miami.
· The Client handles a wide variety of commercial litigation, including the defence of design and construction professionals, medical malpractice defence, insurance defence/subrogation, the representation of hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians and nurses, resort and timeshare litigation, banking/finance, foreclosure matters, product liability defence, breach of warranty, and personal injury/wrongful death defence.
About The Job:
· The Client has an immediate need for a strong and ambitious Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of experience in their Maitland office to handle first party property, general liability and long term care cases.
Responsibilities:
· Performing legal analysis on new and existing claims.
· Developing case strategy.
· Responding to and propounding discovery.
· Drafting of motions.
· Taking depositions.
· Attending hearings, attending mediations.
· Negotiating settlements and assisting with trials.
Requirements:
· Candidates should have excellent academic credentials with proven skills in writing, analysis and research, and outstanding skills in negotiation and client interaction.
· Associate Attorneys will be responsible for handling their own caseload, managing deadlines, interacting with clients and outside attorneys, and will gain litigation and courtroom experience.
· Must have a JD and be in good standing with the Florida Bar.
