Recreation Aide
As a Recreation Aide, the employee will be responsible for leading group programming daily on weekends on a strictly timed schedule.
This is a weekend position and will be expected to function independently and on time. This includes gathering residents for participation, the ability to decipher diet-type reports, documenting the day’s activities, and conducting therapeutic individual visits outside of scheduled group times.
Ability to follow instructions and implement programs accordingly. Employees must be available to work on Holidays, especially those that fall on scheduled weekends.

Responsibilities of a Recreation Aide :
- Implement activities and programs for Residents.
- Assist recreation specialists and set up program areas as needed.
- Assist residents with programming.
- Transport residents to and from programming as needed.
- Available for Holiday coverage
Qualifications of a Recreation Aide :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior long-term care experience or previous experience with a geriatric population
- Understanding of diagnoses and presenting symptoms
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to multi-task
- Understanding of resident needs diet modifications, adaptations required,
- and abilities in ambulation and other areas of functioning.
- Ability to orient residents and diffuse difficult situations when applicable.
