Job Summary:
Join us at Compassionate Crossings!! We provide the much needed service of in-home pet euthanasia and aftercare services in the Greater Birmingham area. We are locally owned and operated (not a corporate entity), and we are a small group of 3 part time veterinarians (all of us work other full time jobs in a clinic setting). This is the perfect opportunity for practicing veterinarians to accept part-time FLEXIBLE work for EXCELLENT supplemental income as a 1099 independent contractor!! All training and work materials are provided.

Our ideal candidate will have availability Mon-Fri 10am-3pm, but we will also consider candidates with primary availability Mon-Fri 6pm-9pm and Sat-Sun 10am-8pm. We will also consider a veterinarian with 1 or 2 weekdays available each week that could be on call for us as requests for in home visits are made each day. Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently licensed veterinarian by the Alabama Board of Veterinary Medicine Examiners.
• The ability to work a minimum of 4 house calls per week (i.e., approximately 6 hours of work including drive times). Pay is $175/visit.
• Truck or SUV kept free of clutter, visible dents, and able to accommodate pets up to 150lbs.
• Experience maintaining a warm, empathetic personality to compassionately provide services for families during a difficult time.
• The comfort level to provide solo care without the use of a technician (all visits are done using tourniquets and butterfly catheters on sleeping patients).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using Google Calendar or similar scheduling application to accept/decline appointment invitations.
• We utilize Google Calendar for our scheduling and can provide training as needed to ensure we are able to respond to client needs and assign clients to our veterinarians in a timely manner (i.e., many appointments are scheduled the same day or with less than 24 hours’ notice).
• Ability to lift 100lbs or more utilizing a stretcher with the assistance from a client or an associate of Compassionate Crossings.
