We are currently seeking to fill the Speech Language Pathologist position.
  • Position to be performed at Visalia Location, 93277.
  • Compensation: (negotiable, based on experience, etc).
  • Opportunity to accumulate overtime.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
  • Identifies functional speech deficits and establishes a plan of care to improve the patient's function.
  • Administers speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment as appropriate.
  • Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
  • Confers with referring physicians and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the patient’s plan of care.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled case conferences to coordinate care. Provides in-services when indicated.
  • Complete and submit all documentation within the required timeline.
  • Maintains all required licenses and certifications to practice in California.
  • Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refers as appropriate.
  • Instructs patient, family/caregiver and other Organization health care personnel in the patient's treatment plan.
  • May supervise home health aide in procedures directly related to the speech-language therapy plan of care.
  • Performs other duties, as required, to facilitate the delivery of speech-language pathology services.
The above duties are only meant to be a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description that align with the SLP Scope of Practice.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possesses a master’s or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP), and who meets either of the following requirements:
  • Is licensed as a speech-language pathologist in the state of California; or
  • Be in the process of obtaining a license in the state of California (license would have to be issued prior to beginning patient care):
  • A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred; however, those in the process of completing their RPE/CFY are welcome to apply.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization's requirements.
