Description
Bayside Care Center is seeking a Infection Preventionist (IP) to plan, organize, develop, coordinate, and direct our infection prevention control program and its activities in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations.
Duties include but not limited to:
- IPC Program Management.
- IPC Education.
- Ensure Regulator Requirements are being met.
- Implement Performance Improvement plans to meet regulatory requirements.
- Provide consultation to occupational health personnel.
Assists the Director of Nursing Services in the implementation of the philosophy and objectives of the nursing department. Assigns patient care, orients new personnel, and supervises and evaluates work performance. Periodically visits patients to ensure optimal care and to ascertain the need for additional or modified services. Supervises the execution of doctors’ orders and treatments, the maintenance of nursing care records, and the provision of supplies and equipment. Identifies nursing services and assist in their solution. Institutes systems to ensure that excellent nursing care and documentation occur 24 hours a day.

Requirements
- Graduate from accredited school of professional nursing and currently licensed by the State of California as an RN.
- Minimum 1 year as a charge nurse in a long-term care facility.
- Willing to complete a minimum of 20 hours of Infection Prevention Training within 30 days of employment and 10 hours of continuing education yearly.
- Ability to generate enthusiasm and cooperation from others.
