Compass Health is Hiring a Director of Staff Development Near Templeton, CA

Description

We are currently looking for a LVN with a desire to be an educator and a mentor to the future nurses of tomorrow. We are looking for an energetic and engaging individual to teach our CNA training program, be a coach and cheerleader for our current CNA's, to instill in them the skills and confidence to succeed in future nursing programs. Demonstrates and teaches resident care in classroom and clinical units to students. Lectures to students, issues assignments, and directs seminars and panels. Prepares and administers examinations, evaluates student progress, and maintains records of student classroom and clinical experience. Participates in planning curriculum, teaching schedule, and course outline. Cooperates with medical and nursing personnel in evaluation and improving teaching and nursing practices.

Requirements

* Graduated from accredited school of nursing and currently licensed by the State of California as a registered nurse or a licensed vocational nurse.

* Has at least one year experience as a licensed nurse providing direct nursing care to the aged, chronically ill, the developmentally disabled, or the mentally disordered in a long-term health care facility.

* Must have at least one year experience in planning, implementing, and evaluation of nursing programs in the field of nursing (may be waived if an RN consultant meeting these qualifications is available to provide at least ten hours per year on site consultation).

* Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to apply basic principles of nursing care. Has good verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates capability to work effectively with all employees.

* Maintains an interest and knowledge of current trends and new developments in nursing and health administration.

* Demonstrates interest and ability to work effectively with geriatric and disabled persons.

* Has the ability to generate enthusiasm and cooperation from others and to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
