Companion Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time veterinary and kennel assistant to join our medical team!

Our ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with a positive attitude and has a love for learning. Even if you don't have much experience, we're willing to train the right person in the fundamentals of veterinary assisting.

This job is a great fit for someone who likes to care for animals, enjoys learning about medicine, enjoys cleaning and organizing, and likes to educate people.

Specific Duties:

• Cleaning and organizing kennel and treatment
• Restraining
• Giving oral medications
• Preparing meals for cats and dogs
• Walking dogs in accordance with hospital policy
• Detailed note-taking
• Obtain and processing lab samples for in-house and outside laboratories
• Fill prescriptions
• Charting and Invoicing
• Maintenance of all instruments
• Communicate and educate clients in a professional manner on the phone and in-person
• Housekeeping duties
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for multiple hours at a time and be able to bend and kneel repeatedly
