Companion Animal Hospital is seeking a full time veterinary assistant to join our small animal practice for our daily surgical procedures and exams.

The ideal tech/assistant candidate must possess strong veterinary skills with multi-tasking abilities, along with a great work ethic.

Our ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with a positive attitude and has a love for learning. We are looking for experienced technicians/assistants who are able to assist in exams and surgery, take excellent notes, and educate clients on pet medications, treatments and therapy, diet, and behavior. Knowledge of Avimark software is a plus.

Specific Duties:

• Restraining
• Assisting the Veterinarians
• Patient Care
• Surgical prep and assisting with anesthesia monitoring and recovery
• Nail Trims
• Hospitalized monitoring includes: charting, calculating drips, monitoring fluid pumps, feeding, and medication and injection administration
• Radiology with proper positioning for review with specialist
• Obtain and processing lab samples for in-house and outside laboratories
• Pharmacy
• Laser Therapy
• Charting and Invoicing
• Maintenance of all instruments
• Communicate and educate clients in a professional manner on the phone and in person
• Housekeeping duties
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to stand for multiple hours at a time and be able to bend and kneel repeatedly
