Position Purpose: The Deposit Account Process and Risk Administrator is responsible for creating and overseeing processes, procedures, and workflows for deposit account opening, deposit account exception tracking, and account documentation/ownership requirements for personal, business, retirement, and fiduciary accounts. This position will review and approve legal and corporate documents pertaining to deposit accounts and will provide guidance and training to bank staff on new account opening and related workflows to ensure compliance and legal risks are effectively mitigated.
Job Requirements
Education: A 4-year degree in a Business-related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a 4-year degree.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Retail Banking new accounts is required, including extensive experience with both personal and business deposit accounts, IRAs, HSAs, and all applicable account and legal documents. Training and process-documentation experience is also required. Experience with Fiserv Precision core system and Fiserv Business Process Manager is strongly preferred.
Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; analytical thinking skills; ability to type at least 50 wpm; high proficiency with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; fluency in the English language; ability to create professional-level written procedures and training manuals; ability to provide effective training to adult learners with various levels of experience.

New Deposit Account Expectations
  • Possess extensive knowledge of deposit account ownership and documentation requirements from a regulatory and legal perspective, and attend continuing education as needed to stay up to date.
  • Create and oversee adherence to processes and documented procedures for new account opening, including personal accounts, fiduciary accounts, business accounts, IRAs, and HSAs.
  • Ensure that the workflows for opening and maintaining deposit accounts are clear and efficient, and that all new account processes function properly within the electronic new accounts system, making changes and updates as needed.
  • Provide guidance and approval to branch staff on the acceptance of legal documents pertaining to trusts, powers of attorney, guardianships, estates, and other deposit-related legal documents.
  • Provide guidance to ensure proper business account documentation is collected, such as corporate resolutions, articles of incorporation, beneficial ownership data, certificates of good standing, and other required business account documentation.
  • Be the bank expert in deposit account opening, ownership, and documentation requirements and be the centralized contact person for bank staff.
  • Collaborate with system administrators to test and confirm acceptability of new deposit account system functionality.
Deposit Account Exception Expectations
  • Create and oversee adherence to processes and documented procedures for tracking all deposit account exceptions and update procedures as needed.
  • Communicate deposit account errors regularly to branch staff.
  • Ensure that deposit account errors are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Train Deposit Operations staff on proper new account checkback and error tracking procedures and ensure that checkback is being done properly, consistently, and timely.
Training Expectations
  • Prepare clear and accurate professional-level training manuals for all aspects of the new account opening processes, including electronic workflows, account ownership, and account documentation.
  • Effectively train staff on all aspects of new account opening and account changes as needed, based on their position.
  • Adjust training speed and depth as needed in consideration of audience’s level of expertise to maximize attendee success.
  • Identify needs for additional training based on error rates and schedule/conduct training as needed.
  • Ensure Retail employee training schedules are coordinated with branch schedules to avoid branch busy times or times of branch understaffing.
  • Train staff on new system functionality as it is implemented.
Compliance/Other Expectations
  • Be fully trained and knowledgeable in all compliance related areas of CSB including, but not limited to: BSA, OFAC, Reg CC, CIP, etc.
  • Be fully trained and well-versed in legal requirements for acceptance of court and legal documents pertaining to deposit account clients.
  • Deliver products in compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
  • Provide policy overrides and allow exceptions when appropriate.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with other departments and senior management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Frequent sedentary work that primarily involves sitting.

  • Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, phone, and printer.

  • Frequent need to speak to groups of people.
  • Constant ability to report in-person regularly and consistently at job site.
  • Constant ability to distinguish colors and clearly view close up written materials.
  • Constant exposure to moderate background noise (keyboards, telephones, printers, talking, etc.).
  • Occasional need to travel to other bank locations.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather for short periods of time during travel.
