Crew Leader, $20.47/hour, 5% pay adder for Bi-Lingual English Spanish

• 36 hours per week M-Th (8:30-4:30), Friday (8:30-4:30), Temporary/Seasonal approx. 6 weeks beginning 7/1/2024

Join us this summer to lead youth in outdoor natural resource projects and community stewardship in the beautiful Oregon Coast Range community of Alsea. As a Crew Leader, you will lead a small group of local youth in outdoor paid work experiences. Must be comfortable using tools and teaching safe tool use. Teambuilding skills and strong work ethic required. Must have a clean driving record and ability to pass a background check. Teaching or youth programs experience and a background in science and/or natural resources preferred.
Duties include;

• Coordinate, organize and direct site activities for participants and volunteers.
• Provide on-site training and technical assistance.
• Manage supply inventory, purchase equipment and maintain accurate cost records.
• Prepare and track job progress and completion reports.
• Educate and engage community members on work activities.
• Maintain appropriate safety measures for all work activities.

Ideal candidate will have direct ties to the local communities.
Minimum Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year practical experience in vocational education, construction, natural resource management/education, and/or community development; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Preference will be given to candidates with past teaching experience in natural resource education and/or outdoor youth project management. Valid driver's license, maintain minimum liability auto insurance and insurable driving record to operate vehicle on agency business.
