The DCW Supervisor is responsible for daily operations of the office, including but not limited to: Supervision, client service provision, compliance with State and Federal regulations, recruitment and retention initiatives, training activities, and client outreach and growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, direct, and support Direct Care Workers (DCWs) in the completion of their duties, so as to accomplish the CRI Mission. Serve as a DCW backup as needed.
2. Develop and maintain a professional and friendly working relationship with DCWs and other staff, fostering a positive work environment and employee morale. Effectively and professionally communicate with DCWs, coworkers, management, applicants, and other individuals as needed.
3. Serve as a point-of-contact with new DCWs to orient the employee and ease their transition to CRI practices and personal care. Complete Supervisor meetings in compliance with the DCW onboarding experience and as necessary after.
4. Assist in identifying specific training needs of new and existing DCWs and participate in the development of training topics. Oversee the scheduling of training opportunities and as needed, conduct direct care training.
5. Work with the Scheduling Coordinator to review allotted time off, availability, and appropriate amount of hours for DCWs.
6. Work with the Administrative Assistant to maintain employee qualifications and documentation to ensure compliance with State and Federal Program regulations.
7. Use coaching techniques, including positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques as appropriate and administer staff warning documentation as approved by Human Resources.
8. Complete employee evaluations and regular DCW updates regarding progress toward their goals.
9. Responsible to be an active member of the Safety Committee, attending meetings, and enforcing safety initiatives to assist in the reduction of on-the-job injuries. Address any safety concerns with DCWs and clients or the client’s representative.
10. Perform direct care duties as needed, such as demonstrations, training, or fill-ins.
11. Complete intake visits with new clients and orient them to CRI services. Oversee client services through frequent interactions with clients, applicable emergency contacts, service coordinators/case managers to ensure the highest quality of service is delivered.
12. Complete all internal and external incident reports as required in a timely and accurate manner.
13. Responsible for initial complaint resolution. Complaints needing further resolution are to go through the applicable chain of command.
14. Responsible for the recruiting, interviewing, hiring and orienting of direct care staff for the applicable service area.
15. Participate in an on-call rotation. Create, maintain, and manage the DCW on-call schedule. Assume direct care duties or on-call duties if needed.
