GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The purpose of this position is to support the Agency’ needs by providing transportation of foods and supplies to various nutrition sites, Head-Start centers and meal on wheels clients while following all traffic laws/regulations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.
· Learns and can complete all runs at a satisfactory level.
· Delivers prepared meals daily to various nutrition sites, head start centers and meals on wheels clients served by CRT.
· Receives food containers from kitchen area and/or meals on wheels, transports, and loads onto vehicle.
· Checks to determine that all foods items are accounted for per route sheet and are properly labeled and packaged for transportation.
· Maintain proper delivery order of route sheets. Records daily time of first delivery and time of last delivery. Indicates on route sheets if client is not home and at what time. Verbally report this and any other pertinent information to MOW manager.
· Maintains weekly temperature/mileage sheets and daily safety checklist. Returns both to transportation manager at end of the week. Reports any temperature control issues to Transportation Manager or Transportation Coordinator immediately.
· Regular attendance
· Attend and complete all mandatory trainings
· Ensures proper employee gas pin, plate number and driver name are correct when fueling vehicles or putting into the shop for repairs.
· Submits all gas and propane receipts to Transportation Manager daily.
· Returns empty containers and/or trays to kitchen washroom at the end of route.
· Responsible for the cleanliness of vehicle used to deliver, which includes both the interior and exterior of truck. This includes the hot and cold holding areas per state regulations due to the transportation of food.
· Daily check tires, oil, headlights, turn signals, brake lights, horn, instrumental panel, warning lights, radiator/window fluids, body damage and gas, notifying supervisor of major automotive repairs as needed.
· Secures vehicle at end of route by parking vehicle in designated location and safely securing keys.
· Secure and proper handling of company owned phones. Returns phone, charger and phone cord in designated location at the end of the shift.
· Makes emergency pick up of food, equipment or supplies when required.
· Understands responsibilities if involved in an accident. Adheres to all fleet management policies.
· Attends annual defensive driving training and all other trainings as assigned.
· Checks meal count sheet for correct meal site count and packages for the necessary paper goods, milk, bread, and butter as needed.
· Checks route sheets and then counts meals to ensure all meals are accounted for prior to leaving.
· After completion of route and before returning to CRT trucks to be filled with gas and propane as required. No vehicle should be returned under half a tank.
· Clean garage as needed.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS· Assist in production during downtime.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school graduate or GED
Minimum Years of Experience: At least one (1) year of experience working in a delivery environment.
Active Certification in good Standing: Must have a Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Demonstrate skills in: Ability to drive trucks safely under local driving conditions, Exceptional Customer Service skills and good communication skills. The ability to read and write, and drive-in all-weather conditions.
Knowledge: Knowledge of driving a box truck and strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations

Active Driver License in good standing required upon hire and throughout employment

Physical Ability: Tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability.
Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, and toxic/poisonous agents.
