Position DescriptionThe responsibility of the Maintenance Custodian Technician is to assist with a variety of custodial and general maintenance duties of routing nature at a shopping center, office building or multi-unit residential property.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr based upon factors including but not limited to related experience and time in the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Performs duties to maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of a property. This may include shampooing carpets, pressure washing surfaces, snow removal, and rubbish disposal and removal.
• Performs basic maintenance functions under the guidance of the maintenance supervisor. This may include replacing light bulbs and air filters, caulking, lock repair, and other duties using hand tools.
• Notifies management of areas of the property that need repairs.
• Learn skills to as an apprentice to maintain machinery such as motors, pumps, belts, and fans.
• Learn skills to as an apprentice to repair and maintain mechanical equipment, including heating and air conditioning. Diagnoses problems.
• Learn skills to as an apprentice of carpentry duties, including installation of new doors and installation or repairs of doorjambs, moldings, hinges, door closers, locks, knobs, shelving and counter installation, ceiling tile/grid repair and installation, etc.
• Learn skills to as an apprentice to perform routine to difficult painting duties, including drywall or plaster repair, painting, etc.
• Learn skills to as an apprentice to perform routine to difficult plumbing duties, inspecting, installing, repairing and replacing pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures, unclogging sinks and toilets, repair of faucet, assemblies and replacement of washers, repairs or replacement pipes, repair of fountains, etc.
• Learn skills to as an apprentice to perform routine to difficult electrical duties, including inspecting and testing lighting, wiring and power circuits, replaces faulty switches, replaces faulty lamps and ballasts.
• Performs preventive maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience working on a commercial or multi-unit residential property preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Organization, Detail-Oriented, Planning and Accuracy skills preferred.
