Full Time/Term/Grant Funded
The Early Childhood Specialist will provide on-site coaching and mentoring customized for infant and toddler
teachers in licensed and licensed exempt child care centers in the Southeast Region to strengthen high
quality, responsive, and relationship-based infant/toddler care. The Early Childhood Specialist will also
administer program quality assessments, cohort, and best practice trainings.
Required Qualifications
An Associate’s Degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education,
Family Studies, Social Work, or a closely related field.
At least two (2) years of professional experience working with infants/toddlers or
possess an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; and
At least three (3) years professional experience working with infants and/or toddlers
in a child care center
Primary Responsibilities
Administer on-site coaching, mentoring, modeling, and training to licensed and licensed exempt child care
centers exclusively for infant and toddler teachers in the Southeast region.
Establish and maintain certification to administer infant/toddler program quality assessments.
Ability to build rapport with infant/toddler teachers and child care center directors
Travel extensively within a twenty-two county service area of the southeast region
to provide on-site coaching, consultation, and assessments.
Recruit new qualified infant and toddler teachers for participation in the program.
Evening and Saturday hours will occasionally be required.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Use of a personal vehicle is required and will be reimbursed monthly
Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
