Community Options Job Board is Hiring a Program Director Near Amarillo, TX

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.

We are currently seeking and experienced Program Director in Amarillo, TX. The Program Director uses best practices and technologies within a community setting to assist youth with acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing the behavioral, self-help, socialization, relational and communication skills needed to enhance relationships, increase independence, and functioning. Targeted approaches will assist youth in regulating emotional and behavioral responses, developing, meaningful relationships, and effectively understanding and expressing their needs to the best of their ability, which will aid in the successful transition to less intensive community services. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily operations and compliance with state and agency regulations, standards and policies.
  • Lead and train your team to support programmatic initiatives, goals, daily routines, the unique needs of the youth of their families.
  • Provide training on daily routines including cleaning, cooking established meal plans, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene
  • Manage team performance through effective communication, training, performance management, staff meetings, and employee recognition
  • Develop and implement activity programs including the Meaningful Day curriculum
  • Communicate with the families and guardians of individuals we support as needed
  • Develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP)/Person-Centered Plans (PCP) with an interdisciplinary team to include any concerns, observations, and behavioral developments
  • Ensure individuals are supported per their ISP/PCP including medication management, meal planning, and behavior management
  • Ensure program, clinical documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely
  • Assist with monitoring the finances of individuals ensuring purchases are approved and accounted for with documentation
  • Monitor and maintain program budgets
  • Manage relationships with the families and guardians of the individuals in our care
  • Coordinate training utilizing the expertise of pychologists and psychiatrists, team leaders, and specialist within the community. 
  • Ensure the collection of required data and documentation on consumer access and utilization of services 
  • Provide support as needed to the clinical team 24/365

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's Degree in social work, pyschology or other human service filed
  • At least five years experience ( minimum of 2 in supervisory capacity) working with people who have IDD and mental heath and / or challenging behavioral needs 
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving records
  • Team oriented with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Working Conditions

  • Required to be available to support clinical team around the clock 
  • While performing duties of the job, employee travels by automobile, utilizing own vehicle, and is exposed to changing weather conditions.
