SCHEDULE
This is a full time position, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks). Shifts will be 12pm - 10pm or 8am - 6pm depending on the needs of the team. Staff will complete eight 10 hour shifts per pay period. Included in the 80 hours is a weekend coverage rotation of every third weekend. This will be discussed further in an interview.

Salary: $60,050 - $78,312 depending on experience
SUMMARY
GeneralDescription: Serves as a memberof the Crisis Mobilization and Intervention Team (CMIT), provides crisisintervention and stabilization services to those individuals who are in amental health or family crisis, and works closely with a centralized accesssystem.
Responsibilitiesand Duties: Evaluates requestsfor services on an emergency basis and provides on-site evaluations in thecommunity. Completes preadmissionscreenings using approved screening tools and techniques for consumers requestingcrisis services to determine eligibility for program services and/or torecommend the most appropriate level of care.Provides backup for Access andother Emergency Servicesduring periods of excess demand for crisis intervention and preadmissionscreening services. Screens inmates atthe jail to assess appropriateness for post-booking jail diversion. Collaborates with criminal justice communityto ensure that eligible consumers are released from jail and are diverted tothe most appropriate level of care.Evaluates requests for detoxification and refers individuals toappropriate detox or other substance abuse facility if medicallynecessary. Provides referrals, arrangesfor psychiatric evaluations, hospitalization, or inter- and intra-agencyservices. Educates/assists significant others and family members with thepetitioning process. Assists in crisis resolution.
Conducts briefassessments of the consumer's needs and utilizes natural and community supportsas available. Provides a comprehensive stabilization plan following Person-centered Planning principles and utilizingthe individual's strengths, natural supports and community resources, andsupports stabilization of individuals and families in the least restrictiveenvironment.
Ensures the stabilization plan is implemented building upon natural and communitysupports. Provides active interventionthat is welcoming and solution-focused and evaluates the effectiveness ofinterventions on an ongoing basis.Provides crisis intervention, short-term stabilization, and intensivecase management services. Facilitatesplacement of consumers in a respite situation for persons who are homeless orwho do not feel safe in their home environment.Facilitates consumer's transition to appropriate aftercare services andassists with implementation of Individual Recovery Plans and coordination ofnatural supports. Provides activeoutreach to consumers beginning to experience crisis or have not been making scheduledappointments. Acts as an Advocate/Liaisonfor the consumer and/or family with service providers and communityagencies.
Provides CMIT coverage as scheduledconsistent with the demands of a 24/7 program.Maintains accurate and complete record keeping as required. Attends staff meetings. Participates in supervision sessions,performance improvement activities and professional development.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
General Education: College: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Clinical/Counseling Psychology preferred. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work required.
Job-Related Experience: Sufficient mental health experience to perform the position at a satisfactory level required.
One year of experience with children population is required if a Master’s degree is held. Three years of supervised
experience with children population is required if a Bachelor’s degree is held. Experience providing crisis
intervention services preferred.
Licenses, etc.: Michigan state licensure and Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) credential required. Valid
driver's license while operating vehicle on agency business.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Knowledge: Knowledge of Person-Centered Planning; thecharacteristics and social aspects of mental and emotional disturbances; basicprinciples and techniques of psycho-social assessment, treatment planning,crisis intervention, mental health therapies, behavioral modificationtechniques, and community organization/intervention. Knowledge of legal systems, communityagencies, and health, mental health, and social welfare programs. Knowledge of pertinent regulations, medications,and daily living skills.
Skills: Telephone and basic computer skills.
Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain rapportwith each recipient; determine therapeutic needs; developtreatment/intervention plans; monitor recipient's behavior to assess planeffectiveness; and modify plans as recipient's needs dictate. Ability to communicate effectively bothorally and in writing; adapt communication according to recipient's functioninglevel; and establish positive and effective relationships with colleagues andmembers of other community agencies/programs.Ability to listen well; adapt quickly to change; be non-judgmental,innovative, patient, and empathetic. Ability to work independently; meetdeadlines; demonstrate assertiveness and initiative; and show coordination,time management, organization, prioritization, mediation, recipient advocacy,and record-keeping skills. Ability towork as a team member; and work well in stressful and crisis situations.
Physical Demands: Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and operate a computer,telephone, fax machine and copier.Frequent travel is required.Employee is regularly required to drive in all types of weather and toperform job duties effectively at all hours of the day according to the shiftthey are working.
Work Environment: Work isperformed in a hospital emergency department, county jail, and other communitysettings and requires working effectively in a mobile virtual officearrangement and with a variety of people in sometimes difficultcircumstances.
