Compensation

Salary Range: $63.16 - $101.06 per hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Responsibilities

The Director of Facility Engineering & Management/Security/Safety is responsible for the overall operation of the Support Services Departments and the appearance and working order of all Community Memorial Health System (CMHS) buildings (CMH, OVCH and CFH).​ This position works independently and in a team focused environment.​ Responsibilities may include but are not limited to maintaining the exterior of the building, parking lot, and common areas, maintaining all equipment in patient rooms, conducting monthly safety inspections and training the staff on safety and emergency procedures, and working with vendors.​ May respond to emergencies, and work with corporate maintenance on special remodeling projects or capital expenditure needs.​

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

 Supervisory Responsibilities:Manages the Associate Director of Support Services, Associate Director of Engineering-Security, Director of Operations/Emergency Management and OVCH Chief Engineer who direct and supervise all employees at the CMH and OVCH Facilities departments. Is responsible for the overall directions, coordination and evaluation of these areas. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Health System’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Director of Facilities Management has a primary office at CMH however 15% of time is allocated to OVCH oversight with a minimum of two (2) hours of monthly onsite commitment. 

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in field of architecture, engineering, facilities management or similar related field
• Eight (8) or more years of experience in facilities management/leadership, construction administration and project management preferably in healthcare or related services environment
• Experience in the application of various building and life safety codes/standards managed by local, state, federal, and national regulatory agencies

Preferred:

• Master’s Degree
• ASHE Certified Health Care Facilities Manager (CHFM)
• ASHE Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP)
