Responsibilities

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Unit Manager in the planning, organizing, and directing of patient care services. This position supervises the team(s) providing direct care for patients. Management and leadership skills needed included conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, budget administration and coaching/mentoring others. The Clinical Supervisor directs patient assignments, staff scheduling, patient flow, and assists in meeting financial targets by effectively assisting in managing utilization, productivity, personnel and supplies. Participates as necessary in team meetings, and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees.

Qualifications

Experience• 2 years staff RN experience providing a full spectrum of care in a variety of situations required• May substitute 2 years supervisory experience in lieu of 2 years staff RN experience• 4 years of staff RN experience providing a full spectrum of care in a variety of situations preferred• Experience coordinating clinical care and providing mentorship, education, and training to staff nurses preferred• Experience as a Nurse Supervisor or a similar position in an acute care hospital preferred Licenses and Certifications• RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license required• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required• Certifications as required for the unit required• The following is required for departments: 01-87300 Nurse Float-PR Only; Clovis: 02-87200 Nursing Admin, 02-87300 Nurse Float-PR Only; 04.87301 Centralized Flex Staffingo ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into positiono PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support Certification required within 180 days of hire or transfer into positiono NATIONAL - National Certification related to specialty and applicable to role preferred CHS HealthStream Course• The following is required for departments: 01-87300 Nurse Float-PR Only; Clovis: 02-87200 Nursing Admin, 02-87300 Nurse Float-PR Only; 04.87301 Centralized Flex Staffingo BAC - Basic Arrhythmia Course required within 180 days of hire or transfer into positiono NIHSS - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Exam required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position
