INTERNSHIP HOURS: Part Time 10 hours/week

Community Housing Network provides permanent supportive housing, combining safe, affordable housing with voluntary services to support people experiencing homelessness and who are disabled by mental illness or substance use disorders.

Position Summary:

Community Housing Network is looking for a Marketing and PR Intern-Volunteer.

We appreciate these qualities at Community Housing Network and seek someone who can contribute fresh ideas with content creation, communications, event planning, and PR support. The Marketing and PR Intern will work collaboratively with the resource development and marketing team and report directly to the Resource Development and Marketing Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Content Creation/Management

Draft social media posts; Draft e-newsletter content; Assist with researching information to support content development; Assist with interviews to obtain content; Utilize Canva for Graphic Design.

Event Planning

Participate in event planning meetings; Assist with the details and coordination of events; Attend events.

PR Support

Attend and participate in meetings with PR firm

CRM Management

Update CHN’s customer relationship management system (CRM)

Administrative Support

Assist with calendaring; Assist with meeting preparation and meeting notes; Assist with email correspondence.

Other: Carry out other such duties as may be assigned or requested. Contribute to CHN activities as required. Actively participate as a member of CHN’s community.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Interest in pursuing or currently enrolled in a degree program in business, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite Products

Experience with a customer relationship management system (CRM) (preferred)

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Prior collaboration or personal project management experience

Experience with writing copy (school papers, e-communications, blogs, school newspaper, website, etc.) (preferred)

Basic knowledge of marketing principles (preferred)

Must develop a portfolio of all work completed during the period of internship

Must be able to work weekdays and occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Valid Driver’s License
