Community Hospital is Hiring an Exercise Physiologist, PRN Near Grand Junction, CO

Work Schedule: PRN

Location: Community Hospital

Responsibilities:

  • Provides appropriate care for Cardiac Rehab patients per department standards.

    1. Assesses the extent of patient abilities and limitations by reviewing medical records and physician’s notes.
    2. Administers pre-exercise testing assessment and test preparation.
    3. Uses testing equipment, protocol selection, indications, contraindications, and termination criteria for graded exercise testing.
    4. Records, analyzes, and interprets results of tests and prepares appropriate exercise prescriptions as directed by the overseeing Cardiac Rehab Medical Director.
    5. Administers therapeutic exercises and other techniques designed to provide improved functional capacity, exercise tolerance, exercise endurance, muscle strength and endurance, and coordination to rehabilitating patient populations.
    6. Evaluates patients hemodynamic, and symptomatic response to exercise, and assesses the appropriateness of responses as they relate to exercise intensity and endurance.
    7. Designs, implements, supervises, and evaluates outcomes for exercise services in conjunction with multi-disciplinary team members.
    8. Provides educational materials for patients.
    9. Assists in coordinating the daily operations of the Cardiac Rehabilitation program as well as planning for long term growth.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise and Sports Science or Kinesiology, required
    • At least one (1) year of related experience, preferred

    CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

    • Current BLS
    • Current ACLS, or obtained within six months of hiring date
    • Certified as an Exercise Specialist, preferred (Ex: ACSM-CEP, ACSM-EP, AACVPR-CCRP, etc.)

This position's pay range is: $24.00 - $28.80 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increases, market adjustments, recognition bonuses and other forms of discretionary compensation may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
