Community Hospice and Palliative of NE FL is Hiring an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (PRN) Near Orange, FL

Seeking Advanced Practice Registered Nurse scheduled PRN/Part Time

Hospital Based Palliative Care in Orange Park, FL and surrounding Northeast, FL counties.

Works in collaboration with a physician and other palliative care team members in an active practice to deliver palliative care and related health care services to patients and families in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and education for both patients and families.
  • Assists with diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory and radiology tests within the scope of professional practice.
  • Writes orders pertaining to informed consent, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Prescribes medications and other treatments.
  • Administers medications as prescribed.
  • Consults with palliative care physician, or designee, as needed, informs attending physician of services provided, and collaborates with other physicians as needed.
  • Facilitates clarification of patient and family goals of care.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate patient records, charts, and documents to support sound medical practice and reimbursement of services provided.
  • Executes physician’s orders in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Complies with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Initiates reimbursement for services rendered on a timely basis.
  • Ensures provision of informed consent for CPR and DNR.
  • Recommends medications as required to treat specific populations.
  • Adheres to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff, and the organization.
  • Provides educational sessions to advance palliative medicine among internal staff, the medical community, and the community as a whole.
  • Participates in on-call coverage and assists in establishing schedules.
  • Participates in regular interdisciplinary team meetings to review active cases.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate, advanced education with a Master’s degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • Experience in hospice palliative care preferred
  • Valid State of Florida Driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Community Hospice insurance carrier.
  • Advanced Practice Nurse or PA license in the State of Florida
