COMMUNITY HEALTHLINK is Hiring a FSW Residential Counselor Recovery Services Near Worcester, MA

Overview

The RSS Recovery Services offers a continuum of services supporting individuals and families recovering from addiction and associated stressors including mental illness, chronic homelessness and HIV/AIDS. We have a family treatment program in Leominster for 12 families recovering from the effects of SUD. In Worcester we have 2 women's recovery homes supporting women in early recovery from SUD as well as Maranda's House which is permanent housing for women living with HIV. Also located in Worcester is the Sagamore Road Program offering treatment for individuals living with addiction and persistent mental illness. Our community housing program offers supports to 64 families in Worcester and South County. All of our programs offer individualized treatment and are relapse responsive.

If you are looking to give back to the community and help others, this FSW residential counselor position maybe the one for you. A FSW residential counselor can work 0-20 hours a week depending on the program’s need. In this flexible position, there are no set shifts, and staff are scheduled or called as needed to cover empty shifts. This gives you the opportunity to help others without the commitment. 

Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to work various shifts and weekends
  • Provide supervision of clients while on the unit
  • Demonstrate appropriate and respectful interactions with patients and the community as outlined in agency policies
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
  • Facilitate client intakes and discharges when necessary
  • Search clients' belongings and supervise drug test screenings as needed
  • Transport clients to and from appointments as required
  • Facilitate psycho-social groups for the clients as requested
  • Demonstrate positive communication skills in dealing with clients, visitors, and other members of the health care team
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.

Qualifications

  • Grade C02: Residential Counselor I:HSD/GED or HiSet required; Associates degree preferred
  • Grade C04: Residential Counselor II:Requires a Bachelor’s degree; preferably in the field of psychology or human services

  • Previous experience with the programs population preferred

  • Knowledge of the Massachusetts continuum of care for substance abuse preferred

  • Good communication and time management
  • Must be able pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid
  • This position requires transporting clients as an essential function of the role. A current, valid US Driver’s license and a review of your motor vehicle record is required for a determination of your eligibility to drive for this work related purpose. A CHL vehicle may be available but if you will be using your personal vehicle you will be required to provide proof of current registration and inspection.
