Job scope:

TheTransportation MHS will transport people as requested to the CrisisStabilization Unit in Atlanta, Texas in addition to inpatient psychiatric facilitiesoutside of the Crisis Stabilization Unit. The Mental Health Specialist is part of a multidisciplinary team andwill work cooperatively with other members of the team to provide services todesignated individuals. As assigned, MHSpecialist will assist in the admission process including performing inventoryof personal property and orienting people to the unit, assist in performance ofactivities of daily living as indicated, monitor behavior in the facility,obtain vital signs, assist with meals, assist with linen service and completerelated documentation. Transportingpeople to their homes or other locations, picking up meals and picking upmedications from pharmacies may also be required. Conducts inventory of unitsupplies as indicated. Files chart documents as necessary Completes requiredvehicle inspection forms and enters data into vehicle logs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/licensure:

Currentvalid driver's license in state of residence. Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent.

Experience/Knowledge:

TheTransportation Mental Health Specialist provides transport services toindividuals requiring inpatient psychiatric services. Functions as a team member and activelyparticipates in improvement activities. Knowledge of Crisis Stabilization programs and behaviors of individualsrequiring psychiatric inpatient services with one year experiencepreferred. 

Physical Requirements that are bona fide occupational qualificationsessential to the performance of the job: Position requires various activities involvingvisual, auditory, motor skills to communicate; attend meetings/trainings,carrying charts and assisting with patients (up to 50 lbs.), Must have staminafor long days and able to work under hazardous conditions due to potentiallyaggressive consumers. Must be physicallyable to complete Satoria Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA), CPR, and First Aid. 

MINIMUM HIRING SALARY PER HOUR: $16.00
