JOB SUMMARY:
The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing community psychiatric consultations. Perform professional mental health services for clients with mental or emotional disturbances, alcohol or drug abuse problems, and/or mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Perform psychiatric review of charts, and treatment plans and approve pursuant to Medicaid regulations and CHSI policy and protocols. Collaborate in the development of individualized habilitation or treatment plans. Prescribe psychiatric medications and collaborate with other members of the treatment team to monitor medication and facilitate coordination between medical, psychological and psychosocial components of the overall client care. Provide coordination of services with client’s primary care physician. This position carries the responsibility of ensuring productivity standards are met, while delivering quality patient care to the population we serve.
