POSITION PURPOSE

The Monitor Tech, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse, must be able to work under stressful conditions, and greet the public with a cheerful, positive attitude. Must demonstrate willingness to assume responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of clerical services in the nursing areas. Must be familiar with hospital policies and procedures. A primary function is to monitor the telemetry status of each monitored patient and communicate dysrhythmias to the nursing staff.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Must have high school diploma, or equivalent. EKG and Rhythm interpretation required within 6 months of hire.

Must provided diploma or transcripts from education upon hire.

Experience:

Minimum of one year experience with clerical duties preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

BLS certification within 6 months of assignment to position
