POSITION PURPOSE:
The Environmental Service Worker is responsible for the overall custodial work of the CHI facilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High School graduate or GED equivalent desired. One year experience in custodial work.
Licensure / Certification:
Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Valid Florida Driver’s License Preferred.
Skills / Ability:
Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in custodial work. Physical agility required performing assigned tasks.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION)
Clean and inspect equipment after each use and report deficiencies.
Log equipment on a daily basis per departmental procedures.
Complete and monitor set up log to ensure all equipment delivers is return/pick up in a timely matter.
Consistently demonstrate use of proper safety procedure/precaution (wet floor, tapping off areas, etc.)
Insure floors are free of debris in all areas including environmental closet.
Insure proper equipment and safety procedures are use when moving beds, tables, chairs, desk, etc.
Knowledgeable in the operation and service of various types of cleaning equipment, both mechanical and electrical vacuums, extractors, buffers, wet vacuums, scrubbers and fans.
Use proper techniques for cleaning and refinishing of floors.
Perform routines/special care of floors for all areas assigned.
Shampoo and spot carpet as schedule.
Properly dust and wet mop floors-moving furniture and other objects that may obstruct path.
Pays close attention to detail (baseboards, corner, furniture, vents, etc.)
Constantly use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to manufacture specification.
Develop and maintain an appropriate and effective working relationship with staff and physicians to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment for patient and visitors.
Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques standards precaution and isolation precaution.
Perform and document all assign tasks in a timely and professional matter that reflect the highest integrity of the environmental services department.
Report safety hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
Insure trash containers are clean daily and not over fill and constantly use lids while transporting trash.
Other duties as assign.
