Description

Community Health Alliance is looking for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Join our talented team of healthcare providers that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income.

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. 

Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries as a member of a Care Team in a Family Practice model setting; provides comprehensive, outpatient medical services for individuals and families on a continuing basis.

Upon joining our team, you will enjoy the benefits of:

  • Licensed providers start at 18 days of leave per year.

  • 7 paid holidays, 5 sick days, and 5 paid float personal days per year

  • 100% company paid employee medical insurance, and 90% paid vision and dental on the first of the month from the following hire date.

  • Paid pension plan at 5% of earnings after one year of service; no employee match

  • Provider continuing education benefit available at 40 hours and $1,800 per year

  • Continuing education benefits are available to all full-time staff at $500 per year

  • 100% License, registration, and certification reimbursement for most clinical staff

  • Additional 403(b) retirement annuity plan for the employee to save; no employer match

  • Student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corp. With a score of 19, in almost all cases, repayment is awarded to our providers who enroll.

  • Malpractice coverage through FTCA (Federal Tort Claims Act)

  • $10,000 Accidental Death and Dismemberment policy for each benefit-eligible employee at no cost to the employee. This is an employee benefit paid for and sponsored by Community Health Alliance.

  • Additional supplemental voluntary benefits available for purchase

Benefits are pro-rated on part time basis based on the FTE status.

Qualifications


Education and Experience: :  Graduate of an accredited Advanced Nurse Practitioner program; certified by the Nevada State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practitioner of Nursing. Must be licensed in the State of Nevada.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a medical clinic and office
  2. Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding
  3. Knowledge of and ability to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases and injuries in a Family Medicine model setting
  4. Knowledge of, skills related to and ability to treat medical and surgical emergencies
  5. Skill in operating personal computer utilizing word processing, databases, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and e-mail
  6. Skill in operating various office equipment: copy/fax machine and telephone
  7. Skill in operating various medical office equipment, such as; EKG machine, pulse oximeter, nebulizer, spirometer, audiology, etc.
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, patient financial and medical information
  9. Ability to read, write legibly, calculate mathematical figures and medication doses
  10. Ability to solve practical problems dealing with a variety of variables
  11. Ability to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions
  12. Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members in a Care Team environment to build and to enhance teamwork in the clinics and overall CHA's organization
  13. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
  14. Ability to interview and communicate either in person or with an interpreter with patients in a clinical setting including but not limited to Spanish
  15. Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc.
  16. Ability to hear and speak to converse over telephone and interview patients
  17. Ability to see to accurately calculate and administer doses of medication and perform physical exams
  18. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis
  19. Reasonable accommodation will be made for physical limitations on an individual basis
