Under general supervision of the Infection Control Coordinator and according to established Hospital and professional policies and procedures the RN Infection Control will:

• Perform surveillance activities related to the identification, prevention, and control of actual and potential infections
• Assist with the preparation and presentation of infection control educational programs
• Participate in the development and review of Hospital departments’ infection control policies and procedures
• Prepare and present related data reports to medical staff, clinical departments and committees required
• Serve as a liaison to outside agencies concerned with infection control
• Participate in the development and implementation of the Hospital Quality Improvement Program
• Identification, investigation, reporting, prevention and control of Healthcare Associated Infections (nosocomial infections) among patients and personnel

Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a professional nurse. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hospital setting and a reasonable knowledge of the principles of epidemiology and infectious disease. CIC Certification desirable. Current CPR certification maintained. Annual safety and infection control procedure updates.
