Community First Bank is Hiring an Universal Banker Near Kennewick, WA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position floats between branches and is assigned to whatever branch needs assistance as deemed necessary by the Director of Branch Banking. The Universal Banker is responsible for providing exceptional client service including efficient and accurate transaction processing, account maintenance and new account opening.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide remarkable service to our clients every day to include following the defined Service Standards as determined by the Company.
  • Build relationships with clients, anticipate their needs and educate them on our product and service options that may enhance the relationship.
  • Ability to proactively problem solve by demonstrating concern and empathy while seeking a solution that is in the best interest of the client and the Company.
  • Conduct routine transactions within limits and established guidelines.
  • Conduct complex transactions including foreign currency exchange, savings bond redemption, and IRA/HSA contributions and distributions.
  • Assist clients in disputing fraudulent transactions and opening new accounts when their existing accounts have been compromised.
  • Completes address change requests for client including temporary or seasonal address changes.
  • Balance and submit batches throughout the day, verify Deposit Review and conduct close of day procedures after all batches have been submitted.
  • Proficiently process wire transfer requests after completing appropriate training.
  • Provide in depth information concerning bank services and products to include account information and copies of statements; or directs client to appropriate department for specific information.
  • Proficiently answer client phone inquiries.
  • Proficiently answer the more complex client inquiries including loan payoffs.
  • Close debit cards and accounts.
  • Prepare instant issue debit cards for clients after completing appropriate training.
  • Assist with replenishment and balancing of ATM cash.
  • Assists in managing operational loss within the branch to include override for transactions, exercising proper hold placement for loss mitigation, and executing superior balancing.
  • Identify fraudulent/counterfeit activity to prevent potential losses to the Bank.
  • Assist branch leadership with branch certifications and monthly audits.
  • Proficient at opening and conducting general maintenance on new accounts.
  • Proficient at all tasks associated with a CSS3 as determined by the Company (see separate job description).
  • Proficient at all tasks associated with a PB1 as determined by the Company (see separate job description).
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of prior experience in financial institution performing teller activities and at least 6 months of opening new accounts.
  • Successful completion of in-house training program or other approved training program.

  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both clients and co-workers.
  • Strong Mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy.
  • Competence with computers, telephone, 10-key calculator and other office machinery.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Commitment to build relationships through in-person customer interactions.

Physical:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Good visual acuity to read print and computer screens.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
